Welcome to The Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Department. We take pride in the services we provide.
We currently operate out of one station, providing Fire protection, EMS and Rescue to the residents in our first due areas of Cornplanter Twp and parts of President Twp. Our second due area includes Rouseville Borough, Allegheny Twp, Oakland Twp, Cranberry Twp, Cherrytree Twp,Oil Creek Township, Pinegrove Township, Village of Reno and Pleasantville Borough. We are also on special request to the City of Oil City and Titusville.
Our First Due Fire area includes an elementary school, 2 day care facilities, a large nursing/assisted living facility, several Industrial facilities including Merisol Antioxidants chemical facility and a propane facility, several oil and gas wells in the area, Pithole Historical Museum, and Oil Creek State Park.
Over the past several years Cornplanter Fire Department has strived to become the best in what we do! Several members have attained the Firefighter I & II certifications and recently our department received state recognition through the State Voluntary Certification Program. Our members are highly trained in firefighting, EMS, Water Rescue and our Haz-Mat Technicians and Haz-Mat Operations members make up a large part of the Venango County Haz-Mat Team.
Our call volume increased in 2008 with a little under 400 calls for the year. CVFD is proud to announce that no call for help went unanswered during 2008, a rare feat considering the manpower shortages that the fire service faces nationwide.
Continue to expect great things from the Cornplanter Township Volunteer Fire Department and know that we will be here for you in your time of need.
